Fireside Chat April 13, 2015 "I'll Take Him" performed on piano Matthew 27: 57-60 Artist Statement: I finished practicing the song with the newly written lyrics one last time in the HFAC before walking over to the Nelke at 6:30. My heart was pumping, my stomach was scrunching, and I knew it was time to perform. I loved seeing all of my other classmates there visiting with each other and discussing what we would be doing as pizza and Oreos were being pounded down. The fireside chat was about to begin and that's when I started to ponder about this whole process of completing this song "I'll Take Him". What was special about this process is that my brother, father, and mother were involved in the researching and creative process. Since my mission, I knew I wanted to write a song about Joseph's story of how he pleaded with Pilate for the Savior's body after His crucifixion.
